Certificate Program on Hospital Infection Control
Background

The SankaraNethralaya Academy (Unit of Medical Research Foundation) in association with the Schulke India provides six months online “Certificate Program in Hospital Infection Control” commencing its 19th Batch from January – 2023.

This course seeks to offer the participants a comprehensive grounding in different aspects of Hospital infection control with a view to enhancing their understanding of the contemporary issues in Infection control practices. Infection control program has the main purpose to meet patient safety standards and better patient outcomes, quality in healthcare is becoming a mandate.

OBJECTIVES:

The candidate will able to

  • To prepares HIC professional for becoming successful Infection Control Managers in hospital
  • The Certificate in hospital infection control course is designed to provide knowledge about the impact of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) and the roles of various stakeholders involved in infection prevention and control.
  • An essential component of healthcare quality and patient safety.
  • Investigating and advising on outbreak management.
  • Providing a clinical advisory service for infection prevention-related issues.
  • Revising and formulating policies.
Methodology:
The program is conducted as distance learning with a compulsory online / in-person classes and includes a systematic evaluation process. Duration of the program is 6 months.
Faculty:
Practicing professionals / Surgeons / Consultants from various healthcare institutions are the Faculty for this course.

  • Staff involved in the NABH, NABL, JCI, and other Accreditation processes

  • Member Secretary: Senior Microbiologist.

Evaluation Techniques:
  • Written exam with MCQ pattern – 100 questions conducted in online mode, minimum pass percentage is 50
  • Project to be submitted
  • Project presentation
  • Compulsory attendance for four days of contact classes (may be conducted online or offline. Prior intimation will be given in either case)
Instructions:

In order to be eligible for a continuing education certificate, attendees must complete all the evaluation process of the education activity. Only after completing all assignments the certificate will be awarded.

After successful completion, the certificate will be awarded by The SankaraNethralaya Academy (Unit of Medical Research Foundation)
