The Sankara Nethralaya has collaborated with ABDO to provide Diploma in Optical dispensing course and Fellowship of British Dispensing Opticians (FBDO) to the Indian students via blended learning program. The ABDO has been the qualifying body for dispensing opticians in UK since 1986. These courses proves advantageous to the students by minimizing their expenses whereas the course content and value remains the same. The diploma from ABDO is recognized and valued across all commonwealth countries. All the course materials will be provided online. Students need to visit Sankara Nethralaya twice each year for two weeks each time for contact classes. They will need to come to Sankara Nethralaya once each year for one day to take their exam.

Titan Industries Limited, Tamil Nadu and Sankara Nethralay, Chennai have signed an agreement to train the employees of Titan Eye Plus to enhance their knowledge in optical field. The candidates will undergo 4 weeks of training which comprises of clinical and dispensing sessions combined with hands on training. Optometrists of Titan Eye Plus will undergo internship for 2 weeks in Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai.
