Certificate Program on Central Sterile Supplies Reprocessing Technique
Background:

The central sterile processing technician plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality and inventory of health care instrumentation and equipment. Their work ensures that patients don’t acquire infections and that doctor, nurses and allied health professionals are able to access the instrumentation and equipment they need immediately.

Patients receiving health care are at risk of developing infection as a result of their compromised cleaning, disinfection & sterilization protocols or during instrument reprocessing. The 3 Months CSSD course is aimed at equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge of the standard protocols , complexities and challenges connected with the CSSD function and the broad working skills required to deliver a high standard of care for patients and the healthcare fraternity.

The course is designed by our esteemed faculty and the curriculum will include the latest developments surrounding the process of instrument reprocessing and infection control.

 
Objectives:

The Candidates will be able to

Clean, disinfect and distribute sterilized instrumentation and equipment to an emergency department, intensive care unit, the labor and delivery unit, operating room and other areas of health care facilities in a scientific manner
Contribute to a team of central sterile processing professionals who are all working together to maintain sterilization and storage.
To prepare CSSD professionals to practice appropriate Infection control protocols
Key Message:

The participant will be updated with latest standards, guidelines and best practices of instrument reprocessing

Methodology:

The program is conducted as distance learning with a compulsory 2 days contact classes and includes a systematic evaluation process. Duration of the program is 3 months. The participants who fail to take up entire contact classes and evaluation process will not be certified.

The learning and teaching methodologies applied in this program are preparatory content, contact classes which includes lecture, discussions & case scenarios and field visits.

The students will be provided with contents during commencement of the program. Preparatory content includes,

Contact Classes:

These sessions typically an in-person training runs from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM for 2 days. This program will cover topics critical to successful CSSD management.

Instructions:

In order to be eligible for a continuing education certificate, attendees must complete all the evaluation process of the education activity. Only after completing all assignments the certificate will be awarded.

 
Fee Details:

The payment can be made by DD to be drawn in favour of “Medical Research Foundation” payable at Chennai. Prior registration is necessary. The fee once paid will not be refunded; change in nomination from the same organization will be permitted.
