Clinical Internship – Sn Kolkata

Introduction

TSNA offers Clinical Internship for the Undergraduate Optometry students, mainly based at Sankara Nethralaya, Kolkata since 2004. More than 500 students, have benefitted from the program and are gainfully employed in reputed eye hospitals across India.

Course Objective:

To understand the basic and advanced principles of Clinical Optometry
To do a thorough comprehensive eye examination
To be familiar with basic diagnostic procedures in Optometry
To be a competent Optometry Professional with exposure to multi-lingual, multi-cultural clinical environment and ability to handle different types of patients
To make appropriate referrals.
To learn to perform eye test procedures in community environments and provide proper referrals and management

Eligibility	Bachelors in Optometry Students – Completed Third Year

Duration	1 year
Course fee	INR 60,000/- per year
The Interns will undergo Training in the TSNA Campus - Chennai, SN - Kolkata campuses and Community Eye care.

Course Requirements:

Minimum 85% Attendance
Maintenance of Log books

5th or 6th Semester Mark sheets

After the verification of the above mentioned documents sent by the candidate, Online Theory Examination, In-person Skill Evaluation and a Personal Interview (at Chennai) will be conducted, the date of which will be communicated to the candidate through Mail. Based on the results of the evaluation and the interview, the confirmation of the admission will be communicated to the candidate through mail.
