Course Objectives
- To make the student a competent laboratory professional who will be part of the diagnostics team and actively participate in the processing and testing of samples, generate and interpret reports and work along with Pathologists for arriving at a diagnosis.
- To assist the student in acquiring in-depth knowledge in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Haematology and Blood banking.
- To introduce conventional and advanced techniques and make them skilled in handling instruments and equipments and to perform laboratory tests with accuracy and trained in troubleshooting.

Eligibility Criteria
BSc Medical Laboratory Technology
- Eligibility: 60% in 12th Standard with science background (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany & Zoology)
- A candidate must be 17 years of age at the time of admission or would complete 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission
No of seats allotted by the university: 20 / Year
Duration: 4 Years (3 year regular classes + 1 year Internship)
Frequency: Once in a year
Mode of Selection: Entrance Exam and Personal Interview
Degree Awarded by: On successful completion of the course, the certificate will be awarded by The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University
