Hello Mam,

I am Ms.Prafulla Kuthe and have just completed my Fellowship in contact lens from your Institution.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Sankara Nethralaya for providing me an opportunity and allowing me to be one of the students in the Fellowship Program.

I developed interest in the contact lens field during my academic years of graduation, since then I was eager to do Fellowship in Contact Lens from Sankara Nethralaya only.

When I joined my first day in the CL department, that day itself I got so inspired after seeing the way all seniors were handling the patients. I certainly learned a lot about a unique, systemic & professional way of handling contact lens patients. For me, every day was something like a new experience in clinical and personal learning.
I enjoyed every posting that I was assigned a lot. First time in my practice I had seen various irregular cornea lens fitting at a time. I am really proud to work in such highly qualified environment. In these 6 months of posting I could actually make out the difference in me in terms of practicing Contact lens confidently.

I want to express my sincere thanks to Dr.Raji for her support, guidance that would help me in achieving my long term career objectives. I enjoyed every lecture that she gave as well as the group discussions, where I got lot of motivation and inspiration. She would always be a role model for me.

My heartfelt thanks to all my seniors including Ms.Rajni, Ms.Shakunthala, Ms.Madhu, Ms.Karpagavalli and Ms.Amudha collectively for their thoughtful suggestion and for clearing my doubts in the most simple possible way ,every level which helped me to improve each and every step.

I thank the contact lens department from the bottom of my heart for being so friendly and loving.

I am fortunate to have me as a part of this team.

Thank you for your kind hospitality.

Ms.Prafulla Kuthe.

Weekend – Hospital Management Course - Testimonials

“ The certificate weekend course on Hospital Management more than satisfied all the expectations with which I attended this programme.

Though belonging to a Laboratory set up rather a chain of Labs, the problems we face in the industry are the same. there are challenges with Customer Support/ HR/ Supply chain Management/ IT everyday. It is important for us as these affect our customers who are our end users and for whom we take so much care as we have been taught to do. Unless we know as heads we are not able to train our staff and the organization and end user suffers.

All these topics explained by a wonderful, cooperative and knowledgeable faculty very well selected, have brought these points very clear. Even topics like Health Insurance / Legal issues of which we do not know much but need to know, have been very clearly explained.

The topic Operation and Management brought many facts very clear and these we will use for our future Labs and centers. We will even try and use this model for our present facility to minimise energy loss and improve efficiency.

The staff of SN Academy Mr Mahalingam Academic officer, Ms Leela, Ms Sreeedevi and others have shown a classical example in care of people, patience in answering queries, updating with information and topics and sending us the presentations.

They are a wonderful team and we are privileged to know them all. From Mr Mahali and his team also we have learned a lot.

My thanks to Dr Badrinath for constituting and understanding the need of training and this wonderful group of people who are the spirit of the Academy.

I look forward to attending more programmes and yes, my candidate for the next course is already selected.

Wish you all the very best”

FEED BACK FROM OUR TSNA CERTIFICATE COURSE IN VISION THERAPY CANDIDATE – MR T. GINSUANKHUP,BANSARA EYE CARE CENTRE, SHILONG,MEGHALAYA

Friday, July 06, 2012

In my years of studying Optometry, binocular vision has always been my subject of interest, and nothing could be more fascinating than having hands on experience and exploring the whole concept of it in the esteemed Institute of Sankara Nathralaya Eye Hospital.

After two months certificate course on Vision Therapy, my knowledge on the subject has sky-rocketed and has enthralled me to carry on the practice, its dynamic and promising prognosis of the therapy and create a much more needed awareness in a region such as mine, where pharmacological and optical treatment alone is the only aspect of treating asthenopic symptoms. Having said that, I would like to mention my wonderful experience during the course.

Firstly, the work environment is an amazing experience for me where working and learning goes hand in hand everyday. With the most dedicated staffs/fellows of Binocular Vision Clinic and Vision Therapy Clinic, where every doubts and apprehension of the ailing subject or the curious interns are explained with patience and compassion. It’s a total harmony and perfect ambience of work where the intentions are solely deliverance.

Secondly, the professionalism in the work place is yet another aspect which itself highlights and up held the very esteem name of the institute. The dedication of the senior optometrist and staff, the curiosity and “want to learn” attitude of the interns are yet another interesting sight to see which makes the clinic interesting and exciting everyday.

Lastly, yet the most important experience I have is the hospitality and unselfish attitude of my dynamic yet humble and supportive in charge Mrs. Rizwana and her colleague Mrs. Revathy, who is always approachable and understanding to every situation. I am privileged to have been guided and taught by them during my course tenure. With the knowledge I gain and comprehend under them, I am very much confident in dealing and giving therapy in my future practice for which I will be ever grateful and indebted to them and the Institute, Sankara Nathralaya

Feedback from one our Academy’s COE Participants

Continuing Optometry Education:

It is really a enhancing, refreshing knowledge which is deliver by faculty and its shows hard work of the entire team involved in coe.

It is not the routine practice but very important part of practice which professional neglect due to time constrains or lack of knowledge but sn acedemy make us realized that small skill will make wonders while diagnosing the disorders.

I really recommend to all students who passed out before 5 yrs but not for the sn students, they are at par.

I am so happy to share this knowledge with my patients where others fail doing it. worth memorable practice due to sn acedemy.

Keep it up.

We need many more education program such like this.
