The ABDO has been the qualifying body for dispensing opticians in UK since 1986. ABDO currently represents over 5,300 qualified dispensing opticians in the United Kingdom, (400 overseas), some 2,000 students worldwide, and over 400 Associate members. ABDO provides professional liability insurance for its members along with a wide range of membership benefits. It provides a comprehensive package of CET (Continuing Education and Training) to members to help them maintain GOC (General Optical Council) registration and it offers additional courses for those wishing to add to their specialist skills.
Fellowship of British Dispensing Opticians (FBDO) DLP
The fellowship of British Dispensing Opticians course offers Optometrists & optometry students the unique chance to expand their field of knowledge and skill to become an expert in the art of scientific dispensing. The course will provide the foundation for a complete understanding of the intricacies of the dispensing field , making the optometrist unique and valuable. The student will be able to save a lot of expenses by taking up the course in India. The net expenses is reduced whereas the course content and value remains the same where even the faculty are from the ABDO (UK). All the course materials will be provided online and hence students can undertake the course at the comfort of their home without compromising their job or education.
Although similar to the diploma in dispensing program, the fellowship title is a unique recognition of optometrists who are also qualified in the field of dispensing
