After going through this two year program, the students shall be able to:
• Assist eye specialists in eye hospitals, eye care units etc as Refractionists, Dispensing Opticians.
• Become self-employed entrepreneurs as Opticians / Refractionists by running independent Optical outlets.
• Do preliminary assessment, perform accurate refraction and prescribe Optical aids.
• Aid in co-management of diseases by performing Diagnostic procedures.
Program curriculum:
The two year Program is divided into 4 semesters.
Semester I:
Functional English/Communication, Basic Optics I, Basic Human Sciences I, Basic Ocular Sciences 1, Fundamentals of Optical Retail Management.
Semester II:
Basic Optics 2, Basic Human Sciences 2, Basic Ocular Sciences 2, Basic Computer Applications, Introduction to Clinics (Practical)
Semester III:
Ocular Investigations, Clinical Examinations, Community Ophthalmology, Special Clinics (Practical)
Semester IV:
Internship |
