About Association of British Dispensing Opticians

The ABDO has been the qualifying body for dispensing opticians in UK since 1986. ABDO currently represents over 5,300 qualified dispensing opticians in the United Kingdom, (400 overseas), some 2,000 students worldwide, and over 400 Associate members. ABDO provides professional liability insurance for its members along with a wide range of membership benefits. It provides a comprehensive package of CET (Continuing Education and Training) to members to help them maintain GOC (General Optical Council) registration and it offers additional courses for those wishing to add to their specialist skills.

Diploma in Optical dispensing (ABDO) DLP

The Diploma in Optical dispensing offered by ABDO provides the knowledge and skills needed to be a successful and ideal dispensing optician. The diploma from ABDO is recognized and valued across all commonwealth countries.

The Sankara Nethralaya Academy has collaborated with ABDO to provide this valuable program to the Indian students Via distance education program. The student will be able to save a lot of expenses by taking up the course in India. The net expenses is reduced whereas the course content and value remains the same where even the faculty are from the ABDO (UK). All the course materials will be provided online and hence students can undertake the course at the comfort of their home without compromising their job or education.

Practical Training : once every 6 months in the Chennai campus

Eligibility : +2 Pass ( minimum 60%)
